Creating Dylio: Part II

Updated: Jul 9

Welcome to the second part of the installment about the creation of the protagonist of our next video game Dylio's Adventures, below we show you how Zuci, our conceptual artist, proposed the design of Dylio's human form.

"Dylio is a 10-year-old boy, adventurous although somewhat shy and with a great talent for drawing for his young age. For him, his toys and painting tools are a refuge that escapes him from his reality [...], and he always carries them with him in his large backpack, decorated with objects from his favourite animal: the armadillo."

Starting with the first concepts of the character, we can see traits that are shared between the Armadillo and Human forms:

Conceptualizacion del personaje con la identidad de un armadillo cartoon [boceto a linea y relleno de color base]
Cartoon conceptualization of Dylio with human identity [line sketch and colour fill]

Later we will advance in the story surrounding this mysterious and endearing character and the event that would change his life forever...

Once the boy's body was defined, Zuci carried out tests with base colours, at the same time as working with Dylio in his Armadillo form, so that there was coherence and cohesion between both identities:

Human Dylio [Colour Tests I]

Other tests of values and tones of the chosen palette defined the final appearance of the character:

[Colour Test II]

As a result of this creative process, we defined Dylio in his Human form.
